The Arana Hills Library kindly hosted the launch of Pippa’s Perfect Ponytail. Karen and the staff at the library did an awesome job organising a special birthday party to celebrate the book’s release. The delightful Katherine Battersby launched the book and did a wonderful job, although she did tell a few too many secrets about me. Here are some of my favourite pictures from the event.

This is Katherine telling a secret about me

Fortunately, they were only funny little secrets so we're still friends

Pippa's perfect birthday cake!

I cut the cake before giving a talk on how I wrote the book

This is an early draft of the story. Look at all that red pen!

It was great to read the book to a group of children for the first time

The kids made perfect party dresses and outfits out of newspaper. Pippa helped!

My son is under there somewhere!

My other son didn't have quite as much trouble with his hat

The kids played 'Pin the Ponytail on Pippa'. I tried to pin it on myself!

Here are some of the library ladies: Majella, Karen, Kylie (who was Pippa for the day) and Pam. Thanks to all the library staff and volunteers who helped out on the day.

While the kids played party games, I was busy signing books
Thanks to everyone who came along to celebrate the release of Pippa’s Perfect Ponytail. Extra special thanks to everyone who worked hard to make the launch ‘perfectly perfect’. Pippa would have been proud!

Thanks for sharing, Jules. From these pics I can easily imagine I was there. Look like lots of fun! Congratulations!!!
